Sit & Go

A Sit & Go is essentially a knock-out backgammon tournament. All Sit & Go games have a number of participants that is a power of 2, i.e. the number of players can be 2, 4, 8, 16 and so on. Players buy-in for a certain stake and are then randomly paired with each other. The players will compete in backgammon matches to an agreed upon match length.

The winners of each round continue the tournament and are paired according to the draw sheet. This process continues until the finals are played between two players; at which time, the money will be assigned accordingly.

Backgammon Tournaments

Backgammon tournaments are a special Sit & Go. Please visit the tournament schedule or the backgammon lobby for details. Registration is typically two hours before the tournament commences.

If the number of participants is not a power of 2, byes will be given to random players. These players will advance one round without playing.

Sit & Go and Tournament Agreement

By accepting this agreement, a player confirms that they are familiar with the rules and modalities of the automated Sit & Go / Tournaments:

A player has a certain amount of time for every move. The move-time clock will reset after a move has been made. Additionally, a player has a certain amount of extra-time for the whole match. The extra-time clock will count down after the move-time has expired. Both clocks are located left of the backgammon board. Once a player has run out of time, their game is forfeited and they lose the match. Hence there will be NO settlement in the Sit & Go or Tournament room. Notice: Players are responsible for a good Internet connection. None of the clocks will stop if a player is offline. Also, the client will allow other sessions being played simultaneously. As such, players are encouraged to play fast and efficiently, or finish other sessions prior to registering for a Sit & Go.

In the unlikely event of internal technical problems of the server, GamedayPoker reserves the right to reimburse the players' stakes only and not the actual equity in the specific position before such an incident occurred.

The main differences compared to regular money games and matches:

- different timing (max. time per move, fixed time for the whole match)
- no settlement for unfinished sessions
- matches cannot be made private

Once a player is registered for a Sit & Go or tournament and the necessary number of players is reached, the Sit & Go or tournament will automatically start and unregistering is no longer possible.

If a player has disconnected after having registered to a Sit & Go or tournament, the registration for the Sit &Go will be automatically cancelled, but the player’s registration for the tournament will stay valid.

GamedayPoker reserves the right to publish the name of the winner when the prize value exceeds €1,000.
