Backgammon Dice & Poker Card Shuffling

Backgammon Dice

GamedayPoker utilizes the Swedish SG100, a random number generator manufactured by Protego Information AB. The system is based on the physical properties of a hardware diode; which ensures dice rolls are completely random. The dice are generated on our servers and then sent to the client software in encrypted form. As such, it is impossible for a player to predict the rolls in advance.

Poker Card Shuffling

At GamedayPoker, we strive for fair play and impartiality; as such, the shuffling algorithm used to ensure a truly random deck is very important. For poker we use the ISAAC pseudo random number generator (PRNG). The name ISAAC is an acronym for Indirection, Shift, Accumulate, Add, and Count. It was designed by Bob Jenkins in 1996 and is considered cryptographically secure. To date, no known attacks have become known that affect the practical security of ISAAC.

GamedayPoker uses the Knuth shuffle algorithm as our method of choice. Allegations about biased shuffles can be discarded; in fact the opposite is true. Along with the ISAAC reliable random number source, the Knuth shuffle generates completely unbiased results.
