FAQ Backgammon
How do I start a game?
In the backgammon Lobby, click on the tab bars to switch between the different rooms. We currently have four rooms: "Match", "Single Game", "Sit & Go" and "Tournaments." Once in the room of your choice, select a
preferred stake. At that time, you can sit down at an empty table by double-clicking on the table line and wait for an opponent; or join a waiting player with a double-click. Another option is to register for a jackpot or tournament.
What happens if I am disconnected in the middle of a game?
When disconnected, your extra time turns into your reconnect time. In any case, your opponent can still finish their move. If you cannot get back on time, Gameday settles the position and you will be charged a penalty. However, keep in mind that there is no settlement for jackpots and tournaments. You either win by bearing all your checkers off or when your opponent runs out of time.
Are the dice fair?
GamedayPoker uses a random number generator that is based on a hardware diode. This method offers our customers the most truly random dice available, even precision dice do not come anywhere near these results. Feel free
to check out our security section for more information on this topic.
I have received a message "Maximum number of watch sessions reached." What does that mean?
You can only watch one session at a time.
I would like to save my session chat, is that possible?
Yes, just right-click in the chat field and you will be prompted to save the chat.
I see all those tournaments and would like to join. How can I do that?
Registration for our tournaments usually opens two (2) hours before the tournament starts. For larger events, the registration time will get extended. In either case, the actual time is displayed in the "registration"
column. To register, just double-click on the tournament, agree to the rules, and you are ready to play!
I do not seem to have access to the doubling cube, why is that?
This is because a) you have either activated the "automatic roll" feature, b) it is a so-called Crawford game; where the player who reaches the match point is not allowed to cube in the following game or c) the cube is
already at a level where turning it again would make no difference to the outcome of the match; including the special case of 1-pointers.
How many backgammon sessions can I play simultaneously?
At GamedayPoker, it is now possible to actively play up to four sessions at the same time.
